Algebra 2, sequences and series problems... Need help on 4 problems for my practice test please...
@sleepyjess , any help?
r=Gn+1/Gn=-1/8
Therefore choice c will be the answer!!!
thank you so much... @neba.zi
Never mind!!!
It's not C? How did you get that answer?
@maddrea_ try posting only one question at a time.
sorry /: just really needed the help on these... @Hero
The answer to the first question is c...to verify multiply the common ratio to the first um and u get the second num...multiply common ratio to the second number and you get the third and so on
For the second question...ans is simply A...rule of summation
For third question...answer is D....again the simple rule of summation
128 * ratio = -16 ratio = ?
The common ratio is (-1/8) 128*(-1/8)= 16
okay thank you... Now how do you do the spreadsheet for the 4th one, I have no clue
okay so its like code A1 is what is in the Cell A1
left most one is just your n=1 to 5 the middle is what each term is and the right most is how we are going to add all this up to get the total sum
look at option C and try to really see what is going on with every step
like what is stores in C1 cell, what is stored in B1 cell, what is stores in A1 cell and so on
M guessing the answer is C...of u look carefully...u see....I'm the formula...a in B row...represents the equation for different values of A...! In the C row...the answer corresponding to the value and the previous value are added to get the partial C But I m not sure
@tanmaykhandait you cant be just giving out anwers like that, u gotta let them try and learn
Sorry bro
ok :)
it doesnt bother me
do you know how to graph Geometric sequences too? I don't know how to do this problem
I can try...but m not sure if I can do it
you can graph point by point and join them
this is not a continuous function so, im not sure u can write an equation like f(x) for all x
unless that is what your teacher wants like write a function where these points are solutions on some contiuos function
I don't understand how to do it with fractions
in which case it would be y=Initial number*r^x
first find the r, which is the geometric esequence
How do I find r with the fractions tho?
same thing so take the first number 1/32 * r = 1/8
lets solve for r
r/32= 1/8 r=32*1/8 = 4
so what should your equation be given r now
I keep the values on on x axis and keep the obtained value on x axis.... If u look...the common ratio is 4 and therefore the equation comes out to be y=4x... For example ...if u keep x =(1/32) you get the next term and so on
Wait, can you explain it again, I'm still a little confused... sorry :( I need to see it written out
F(x)= r *x R is the common ratio and x are the values which are given and plotted on x axis Solving this y get f(x) which is the values plotted on y axis
