Which of the following processes has an increase in entropy? a. condensing b. freezing c. dissolving d. filtering
@HelpingHawk Do you know the answer? :/
what i remember is this The entropy of an isolated system never decreases, because isolated systems spontaneously decay towards thermodynamic equilibrium, the maximum entropy. Systems which are not isolated may decrease in entropy. Since entropy is a state function, the change in the entropy of a system is the same for any process going from a given initial state to a given final state, whether the process is reversible or irreversible. However irreversible processes increase the combined entropy of the system and its environment. all the given processes are easily revesible but i fell the anwer is C
That all makes sense. That would lead me to believe the answer is C as well, I'll have to let you know if it's right or not
for sure
entropy of Gas> entropy Liquid> entropy of the Solid if you convert solid to liquid and liquid to gas then entropy increases if you convert gas to liquid and liquid to solid then entropy decreases
