Can someone explain to me what this means in teenage language A colligative property is a property of a solvent that depends on the number of solute particles dissolved in it, but not on the identity or nature of those solute particles. When solutes are dissolved in a liquid to form a solution, the solute particles disrupt the freezing process as the solvent particles try to form solid crystals. This disruption of the freezing process results in a lower freezing point for the solution compared to the pure solvent.

Actually colligative properties in their literal meaning mean the properties depending on number.
Here the number is the number of solute particles which change the constitution of solution and hence its properties (as it no longer remains a pure solution).
These solute particles collect together to form crystalline structures which result in increase in intermolecular force of attraction and hence decrease in freezing point.
this can also be explained with the help of surface properties of the liquid.
Did you get this ?
i havent taken this yet, sorry
Can you explain to me by using a bottle of soda as an example like when its cold and turns to ice with a small hit.
