Factor completely: 2x^3 + 4x^2 + 6x + 12 2(x^3 + 2x^2 + 3x + 6) (2x^2 + 6)(x + 2) 2[(x^2 + 2)(x + 3)] 2[(x^2 + 3)(x + 2)]

OpenStudy (domebotnos):

2x^3 + 4x^2 + 6x + 12 2(x^3 + 2x^2 + 3x + 6) 2[(x^3 + 2x^2)(3x + 6)] 2[x^2(x + 2) 3(x + 2)] 2[(x^2 + 3)(x + 2)] D is the answer. Do you understand how I did that?

no

OpenStudy (domebotnos):

I factored by grouping.

OpenStudy (domebotnos):

First, take out the GCF. In this case in is two. Then, put the remaining number into groups of two: (x^3 + 2x^2) and (3x + 6). Next, factor out the factors of the groups. The groups still left in parentheses should be the same: (x + 2) and (x + 2). Last, put the outside number in parentheses (x^2 + 3) and put it all together: 2[(x^2 + 3)(x + 2)] Now do you get it?
