why we add ammonium sulfate in water sample for iron analysis

OpenStudy (koikkara):

Hai Sweet Friend, @BALAKAKRUSHNA WelcoMe To OpeN studY !! When we add HCL to the water, its pH changes from 7 to 1. and pH of HCL increases (Ref: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/503b6796e4b006c9390b5a2c ) Also, the acid has a chance to react, the more violent the reaction, as it is, you get plenty of heat in the solution when this happens as things heat up, they react faster and more easily. This is why you always add acid to water. Make sure when diluting to add the acid slowly and stir while adding very slowly so that the solution can stabilize better and so you don't get spatters. ammonium sulphate is the reaction product of a weak base , NH3 , and a strong acid H2SO4. Resulting salt is therefore acidic So, If you add (NH4)2SO4 to water , the pH will drop to below 7.00. Hope, if U Are Satisfied with this Answer, Please Close This Question ! Thank U !!
