I never liked chemistry; sorry -:(

its ok. :)

I don't think I understand. B-group elements are in the middle, all transition metals, including the lathanides and actinides. The main group elements, Group A, have one oxidation state in their atoms, I believe. For Group B elements, they have multiple oxidation states. I hope this is right. ._.

No , am asking why transition elements seq. start from III-B ................. VIIIB . IB and IIB are at the last . why they are not at first like in a seq. IB II B ........ so on ???? :/

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it relates to the number of electrons it usually loses. Sc is +3 (loss of 1 d and the s electrons), so it's IIIB; Ti has a range, but the highest is +4, IVB, and so on. On the opposite end, Zn is +2, (loses the s electrons) IIB, Copper loses one s electron and retains a full d subshell, so IB.

Thank you so much @aaronq ^_^
