OpenStudy (anonymous):

How does the phosphorous cycle differ from the nitrogen cycle and the carbon cycle?

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

The phosphorus cycle is the biogeochemical cycle that describes the movement of phosphorus through the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. the series of processes by which nitrogen and its compounds are interconverted in the environment and in living organisms, including nitrogen fixation and decomposition. the series of processes by which carbon compounds are interconverted in the environment, involving the incorporation of carbon dioxide into living tissue by photosynthesis and its return to the atmosphere through respiration, the decay of dead organisms, and the burning of fossil fuels.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

thus the phos cycle is not interconverted like the other two cycles

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

into the environment, that is.
