Hello, I am thinking about starting a power system engineering section. We will learn, discuss, help each other understand power system better. I want to know how many people will be interested. Also to Admin @Preetha is it possible to provide a separate session for that purpose @ParthKohli Introduction: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/539b90b4e4b0eb8de56d4a13 Basic:http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/539f89e2e4b0eb8de56eb168 Per Unit:http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/53a20fd2e4b04b6404575f1a

mathslover (mathslover):

Cool! I love this idea. But not sure whether this will be active or not.

thomaster (thomaster):

Nothing wrong with the idea, but I doubt it will ever become popular or active (like mathslover said). You can just post these questions in the engineering group for now.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Agree with Thomaster. If you can track how many questions are posted on this topic we could create a subgroup - but seems a little too specific for now.

mathslover (mathslover):

Agreed! Rather than just making too much subgroups/groups ...about which we are certain that these are not going to be much active for long... I thought about this while sleeping... :) And came up with this - We can rather try to make Physics group active, and post all such topics/ discussions/tutorials there.

OpenStudy (kainui):

I support the idea of breaking the Engineering subject into a couple other sections. Currently it seems to me that this would be a more popular subject than the other 2 it already has as subtopics, Sanitary Engineering and Solar Cells.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks, kainui

OpenStudy (callisto):

Let's see what is happening in the Engineering group. We have two subgroups in the Engineering group - Sanitary Engineering and Solar Cells. Under the subgroup Sanitary Engineering, we have only 4 questions but we have 12 subtopics. In the other subgroup, Solar Cells, with more questions (5 questions only) and 7 subtopics, it seems to be better. The problem is that in the Engineering group, we already have two not popular subgroups with too many specific subtopics. While Solar Cells is just a part of solar power system, which is a part of the power system, I don't understand if we have a subgroup for solar cells with 7 subtopics under it, why can't we have a subgroup for power system, which is a broader topic? Isn't solar cell too specific as well? If power system engineering is too specific, at least subgroups like civil engineering, mechanic engineering, electrical engineering, and so on should be introduced in the Engineering group so that the questions/tutorials there can be better classified.

OpenStudy (hari5719):

hi i am kinda intrested let me know wen the group is formed and ill be there

thomaster (thomaster):

@Callisto They probably made all those subgroups because solar cells and sanitary engineering are OCW (OpenCourseWare) courses which collaborated with OpenStudy in the past. But I do agree they should create more subtopics like they have in math. I have many subgroups for biology in mind as well.

Hello Everyone. Thanks to all who supported me. I have decided to make a youtube channel for these lectures instead of posting on this site. In the course of few tutorials, I received substantial amount of feedback here. I see many of you are interested and your support were much appreciated. I believe Youtube provides better platform for this so I will be transitioning there.

OpenStudy (kainui):

Share the link to your Youtube channel so I can check it out!

Absolutely, I had a old lamp which I retrofitted to house camera.

OpenStudy (dan815):

oo :)

I am typing from this place :) http://prntscr.com/62bfvq
