Which of the following compounds is an Arrhenius base in water? H2SO4 C6H12O6 HOClO2 NH3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that the correct answer is NH3, and I have figured out that in NH3 when in water forms NH4+ and OH-...however, if I didn't just search it up on the internet, how would I know this?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Think of the Arrhenius Model, Arrhenius Bases are OH- donors so I believe HOClO2 would be the only possible answer
