Small question, medal and fan Is a solution that yields three protons through ionization a triprotic base? Or would it be a triprotic acid? Thanks(:

Well I think it's a triprotic acid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would the protons be on the left side if it was a base then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so. If it yields three protons it means that it's a product, so it's on the right side. I think.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ughhh.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey when I googled triprotic there were four google results so I mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just don't know if yielding three protons makes it a triprotic base or a triprotic acid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once again, acids give off protons (H+)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I know they do. I just haven't done a lot of studying with polyprotics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've never even heard of them before. c:

OpenStudy (abb0t):

If it has protons, it's an acid.
