OpenStudy (zab505):

Which of the following reactions is balanced? A. CaCl2 + 2H2CO3 CaCO3 + HCl B. 2CaCl2 + H2CO3 CaCO3 + HCl C. CaCl2 + H2CO3 2CaCO3 + HCl D. CaCl2 + H2CO3 CaCO3 + 2HCl

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

do you know how to balance equations?

OpenStudy (zab505):

No

OpenStudy (somy):

basically saying its not hard u just need to look at number of something on left side and have same number of that something on the right side

OpenStudy (somy):

CaCl2 + 2H2CO3--> CaCO3 + HCl there is 1 Ca on the left side and 1 Ca on the right side there are 2 Cl on the left side and only 1 Cl on the right side there are 4 H on the left side and only 1 H on the right side there are 2 CO3 on the left side and only 1 on the right side as u can see it's not balanced

OpenStudy (somy):

so do same thing for the other ones and you will get your right option :)

OpenStudy (zab505):

Ah I see

OpenStudy (somy):

yeah :) if u don't get something, let me know :)

OpenStudy (zab505):

I can't figure out which one is balanced?

OpenStudy (zab505):

Wait D?

OpenStudy (somy):

bingo! :)

OpenStudy (zab505):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (somy):

u r welcome :)
