When ice melts at 0◦C, its volume decreases. Compared to the amount of heat added, the change in internal energy is (a) greater (b) less (c) the same

When you put ice cubes in a warm drink, the ice melts. This is because the heat from the warm drink transfers to the ice cube, warming up the ice cube and cooling down the drink, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So when this heat transfer causes there to be MORE heat in the ice cube and LESS heat in warm drink. This means that the energy in the ice cube has INCREASED.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(I think that's what the question is asking)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so its greater, I don't know why I didn't look it this way in the beginning man you are the best
