Hydrogen fluoride gas (HF) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) react in a test tube. They form water and sodium fluoride (NaF). What type of reaction occurred in the test tube?

OpenStudy (abmon98):

We are going to use the Bronsted-Lowry definition of an acid as a proton donor. HF reacts with sodium hydroxide to donate a hydrogen ion to the OH- ion to form water and NaF is formed this type of a reaction is neutralisation because an acid and an alkali are reacting.
