[04.02]What coefficients must be added to balance the following reaction? _____ Pb + _____ H3PO4 _____ H2 + _____ Pb3(PO4)2

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

@iPwnBunnies

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

3, 2, 1, 1 3, 2, 2, 1 3, 1, 3, 1 3, 2, 3, 1

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

You need the coefficients that will give you the equal amount of elements on both sides of the equation. So, like, you see that there is 3 moles of Pb on the right side, but only 1 on the left side. You'd have to put a 3 in front of the Pb on the left side. Pretty much do this with everyone, and check again.

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

Okay and then the second part you put a two infront of it

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yeah, you can put a 2 in front of it. Now you need to balance the hydrogen on the right. :3

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

And that would make it a one c:

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Wat. .-. If you put a 2 in front of H3PO4, you'll have 2*3 = 6 moles of H on the left. You need 6 moles of H on the right. ;-;

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

But the only answers I have is 1,2,and 3... .-.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

.-. What. You have Choices A through D. Recap. You put a 3 in the first, a 2 in the second. And a 1 in the fourth.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

So, yeah, you need to figure out the 3rd coefficient, which is for H2. There are 6 moles of hydrogen on the left side. So, we need 6 moles of the hydrogen on the right side. You'd have to put a 3 in front of the H2, because 2*3 = 6. :3

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

Oh okay c:
