OpenStudy (superhelp101):

One electron in an atom has the quantum number set (3, 1, 0, +½), and another electron in the same atom has the quantum number set (3, 1, 1, +½). They share the same sublevel, but are in different orbitals. same orbital, but have different spin directions. same energy level, but are in different sublevels. same type of sublevel, but are found in different energy levels.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

@Abhisar i need help

OpenStudy (abhisar):

any guesses ?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I was thinking the first one???

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

hmmm....

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

are they both the same type of sublevel?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yes, the first one is correct !

OpenStudy (abhisar):

:P

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yes they are in same sub level, but are in different orbitals

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Great you help is greatly appreciated:-)

OpenStudy (abhisar):

u got this clear ryt ? I guess i didn't confused u

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

no i did you fine

OpenStudy (abhisar):

\(\color{green}{\huge\ddot\smile}\)

OpenStudy (abhisar):

btw both have same l=1 that is why they are in same sub level p. They have different \(\huge m_l\) so they are in different orbitals.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

ooo ok
