What is the electronic configuration of an element in its first excited state which is isoelectronic with O\(_2\) [Ne]3s\(^2\)3p\(^3\)3\(d^1\) [Ne]3s\(^2\)3p\(^4\) [Ne]3s\(^1\)3p\(^3\)3d\(^2\) [Ne]3s\(^1\)3p\(^5\)
Yes! There is 2 oxygens making up 16electrons and [Ne] 3s^2 3p^4 is Sulfur with 16 electrons as well making both oxygen and Sulfur isoelectronic with each other.
I tried =.=
How is Scandium the answer?
wait lol im still thinking
yeah i guess my first choice is the right one [Ne] 3s2 3p4
but
Excited state
hm wait a sec
its last one
Hmmm..it will be A, i figured it out.
Thnx @Somy @Mateaus !
are u sure its first one?
i did think its first one also
but i doesn't really match
because P orbital has half filled stability
Iso to O\(_2\), so number of electrons will be 16...EC for ground state will be [Ne]3s\(^2\)3p\(^4\)
for O2 its s2 p4 excited state is when an electron moves to a higher energy level thats why i thought i'd be last one then
Now, in first excited state|dw:1404222390836:dw|
