OpenStudy (superhelp101):

When nitrogen and magnesium form an ionic bond, what is the formula? N3Mg2 N2Mg3 Mg2N3 Mg3N2

OpenStudy (asib1214):

the charge on nitrogen is -3 and the charge on magnesium is +2. When they react with each other, their powers in chemical equation crisscross like Mg2N3. Makesure to write a solid first and gas after. in this case Manesium comes first and nitrogen which is a gas comes after. The name of the compopund is Magnesium Nitride

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

yes, yes. so the answer would be option D?

OpenStudy (asib1214):

Mg3N2. yep sorry i accidently wrote Mg2N3 up there......

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

no you are fine that you very much!
