OpenStudy (amybennett64):

why is it easier for potassium to lose an electron than lithium

OpenStudy (aaronq):

The electron to be lost is a a greater distance (K has a larger radius) from the nucleus, so there is less attraction. Less force of attraction = easier to remove.

OpenStudy (amybennett64):

thanks
