When the following equation is balanced with the lowest whole number coefficients possible, what is the coefficient in front of Ca(OH)2? Ca(OH)2 + H3PO3 yields H2O + Ca3(PO3)2 1 2 3 6
there would be 3
can u explain plz?
well when you balance the equation Ca(OH)2 + H3PO3 yields H2O + Ca3(PO3)2 because on the products side there are 3 Calcium atoms. so the eqaution can balance to 3Ca(OH)2 + 2H3PO3 yields 6H2O + 1Ca3(PO3)2
but wouldn't the lowest coefficient be one? Ca(OH)2 + 2H3PO4 = 4H2O + Ca(PO3)2 Therefor the lowest coefficients for Ca(OH)2 is 1
@FriedRice
@Abhisar is he right or is the lowest coefficient 1?
If u'll use 1 then the equation will not get balanced.
ooo.. so if you use 3 it will work?
yes...
oh i need more practice on the basic balancing equations. however, thank you!
