Can someone please show me STEP BY STEP COMPLETELY how to do this??? This is geometry: Simple Harmonic Motion. Picture attached below.
\(\bf y=25cos\left(\frac{\pi t}{3}\right)+27\implies y=25cos\left({\color{brown}{ \frac{\pi }{3}}}t\right)+27 \\ \quad \\ period\implies \cfrac{2\pi}{{\color{brown}{ \frac{\pi }{3}}}}\implies \cfrac{2\cancel{ \pi }}{1}\cdot {\color{brown}{ \cfrac{3}{\cancel{ \pi } }}}\)
So the period is 6?
Alright awesome so how would i do this one?
hmmm i same picture... so, I guess will also be the same period =)
Its saying high point but i dont no how to find the amplitude
ohh the amplitude well that's just \(\bf y={\color{blue}{ 25}}cos\left(\frac{\pi t}{3}\right)+27\qquad {\color{blue}{ amplitude}}\)
hmm the high point...
maybe this will help
?
is that part of the same one?
No it is just a slide that mentions high point but if it doesnt help just ignore it. So do you know how to do this problem? Because i dont know after how many seconds the first seat is at its high point.
hmm I'd say well the amplitude is 25 but \(\bf y=25cos\left(\frac{\pi t}{3}\right){\color{brown}{ +27}}\) has a vertical shift of 27 meaning the graph is about say 27 + 25 = 52 that's how high it got |dw:1405124891354:dw| more or less
