Please help me solve this question.A truck of mass 4000kg travelling at 72km/h collides into a car mass 1000kg which is rest. The two vehicles move together after collision. What is the kinetic energy of truck after collision?

Do u know about Conservation of Linear Momentum ?
\(\hspace{30pt}\huge \sf \ Conservation \ of \ Linear \ Momentum\) It states that in a closed system (one that does not exchange any matter with the outside and is not acted on by outside forces) the total momentum is constant. Mathematically, \(\large\sf \ M_1U_1+M_2U_2=M_1V_1+M_2V_2\)
Here, \(\sf M_1=4000kg \\ M_2=1000kg \\ U_1=72km/hr \\ U_2=0km/hr\)
Now after collision both the car and truck moves together so \(\sf V_1=V_2\). Now set up the equation and find the value of \(\sf V_1\). After that use the formula of kinetic energy i.e K.E=\(\large \sf \frac{1}{2}mv^2\) to find the kinetic energy of truck.
Ok...Thank you very much...I'm actually don't understand the whole topic about momentum...Hope if u have time, please explain and teach me about this topic...
