OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Help with Physics?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

A person standing on the escalator takes time t1 to reach at the top of a tower when the escalator is moving. He takes time t2 to reach the top of the tower when the escalator is standing. How long will he take if he walks up a moving escalator?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Why not post it in Physics group?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

cause there arent many people there...

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Of course there are.

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

ok :)

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Thanks for understanding :)

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

this question was initially asked by me but @camerondoherty helped me to ask it in a other way

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

can we take distance as d

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

there is no distance its all time

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

well distance too but theyre asking for time lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

speed = distance / time Do u agree

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

tru

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yes the same thing i was saying @camerondoherty u really are not god at physics lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

who?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

me XD

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

i was just joking i am also not too good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when the elevator is moving up s = d/t1

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yes i tried the same

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

but i was"nt able to come to a solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when the person going up s of person = s/t2 wait @kanwal32 i will tell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He walks up a moving elevator means both the person and elevator are moving

OpenStudy (anonymous):

means both have speeds

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yes

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

ill leave this 2 u guyz..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then simply add the speeds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

S + Sp = d/{(t1 + t2)/(t1.t2)}

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yeah (relative velocity)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t = {(t1 + t2)/(t1.t2)} Question over

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

got it thnx @No.name

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Physics is really great when you enjoy it

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

yeah i love physics its better than any subject

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

i was on the same step but done something idiotic

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

@camerondoherty did u understood

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

just joking

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

no not really XD

OpenStudy (kanwal32):

ok bye
