Yes, gh is a secant and an unnamed part of ef is too. But do not confuse this use of the word "secant" with the trig function secant (sec).

It intersects the curve (in this case the circle) in two points. That makes it a secant by my lights. The segment is also a chord because it lies wholly in/on the circle. All chords are secants, some chords are diameters, is the way I see it.
