Please help me explain steps by steps, specifically. Thanks :)

Redox reaction are reaction which involve the simultaneous loss and gain of electrons. Redox got its name because it is a combination of reduction and oxidation, oxidation is the loss of electrons. A half reaction is where either the individual reduction or oxidation are shown in their own equation. \[Fe+3e \rightarrow Fe ^{3+} \] This shows that the iron loses three electrons therefore it is experiencing a loss of electrons.

Thus it is oxidation.

Not sure if this helps.
