You are given the value for 'a'. You need only concern yourself with the frequency. 370 cycles / second?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

a = 0.12 The period of cos(x) is 2pi. 2pi/what = 370 to produce the response of one second?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 185?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No. Where did the pi go?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf y=Acos({\color{brown}{ B}}x+C)\qquad period\to \cfrac{2\pi}{{\color{brown}{ B}}}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its not 185pi?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No. Where did you get that? \(\dfrac{2\pi}{What} = 370\) On the other hand, I think we need to change the period to 1/370th of a second. This makes the right thing to solve: \(\dfrac{2\pi}{What} = \dfrac{1}{370}\) Still not 185pi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

740pi?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got it. I made that way more difficult than it was. That was my first answer but I wasn't putting it in as a model. Sorry! Thanks for your help!

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I wasn't real clear on how to display the data. It finally dawned on me. Good work.
