HELP WILL GIVE MEDAL!!!!!
@driftracer305
ok the question?
both of them
@SolomonZelman
@driftracer305
well @oleg3321 listen...to find the slope of the function f(x) given two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) use this formula : \[\frac{ y2 - y1 }{ x2 - x1 }\]
now imagine (x1,y1) = (-1,-9) and (x2,y2) = (1,7)
now can u find the slope of f(x)?
no
not really
can you please give answer im in a hurry
it would be (7+9)/(1+1) = 16/2 = 8
so the slope of f(x) = 8
It's better for u to understand the problem not just give the answer ;)
is that the first question or the second
and for g(x) ... as it's in standard form (y = mx + b which m is slope and b is y-intercept) so the slope is 3
all these explanations are for question 1
can you help me with second one too
please
Ok...take it easy ;)
and for question number 2 : first we should find y-intercept for f(x) ... well when x=0 then the value for f(x) would be the y-intercept : |dw:1406054400500:dw|
and we have f(0) = -1 so the y-intercept is -1 too...and for g(x) , as i told u it has been written in standard form so -2 is the y-intercept for g(x) and -1>-2 so the y-intercept for f(x) is greater than the y-intercept for g(x) ;)
@oleg3321
ya im here sorry
so whats the answer
so they're already solved ;)
so the answer is? sorry i dont get it
i explained it to u ;) let x=0 then f(x) or f(0) would be the y-intercept and y can see the value for f(x) in which x=0 in the table and it's -1 so the y-intercept for f(x) = -1 and for g(x) it's -2
well now which of them is greater?
? :(
@PFEH.1999 You are doing a great job explaining.
@oleg3321 you really need to learn these concepts because math is only going to get harder if you can't do something basic like slope formula
Thanks @precal ;)
agree with @precal ;) think it's better for u to first practice the basics...such as finding y-intercepts...writing equations for lines...finding slopes and etc and then try to solve these ;)
can we continue the problem please
-1 is greater
ok then...it's better for u to first find the y-intercept for g(x)...as it's in standard form (y=mx + b which m is slope and b is y-intercept.) so -2 is y-intercept...ok then?
yes -1 is greater ;)
so what do you do next
ok we have solved it ;)
so the answer is -2 and -1 @PFEH.1999
yes and -1 is greater
got it?
so -1 is greater than -2 is the answer
yes and u can write how did u find this too.
and u can write f(x) has the greater y-intercept too ;) well if you have understood u can write whatever the question wants :)
thanks human calculator hahaha ;)
it's only a tag :D ur welcome ;)
