which is an example of a covalent bond

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello there, Michael :) Welcome to Openstudy! Some examples of covalent bonds, could be Diamond, Graphite, Sand, or even carbon dioxide. Covalent Bonds contain a non-metal, non-metal bond. It involves sharing a pair of electrons between atoms in a molecule @michaelparker

OpenStudy (agreene):

I'd like to sort of correct strawberrysorbet ... metal-metal boding is covalent, using her examples, diamond and graphite are both carbon - carbon bonding (just with different structure and % carbon) non-metal - non-metal covalents would be like water (H2O) or Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) metal - non-metal examples would be sand (SiO2) and ethanol (C2H6O)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one way to remember covalent bonds is the term valence coVALENT bonds = sharing of VALENCE electrons to complete the shells now this means you need to know what are valence electrons, and I would like for you to further read that it is so you can use the mnemonic device I suggested

OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

wrong group..!!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

@agreene Metal-metal bonding is \(\sf metallic\) not covalent.. and ethanol is not a metal-non metal compound, sir.
