OpenStudy (superhelp101):

How many grams of zinc metal will react completely with 8.2 liters of 3.5 M HCl? Show all of the work needed to solve this problem. Zn (s) + 2 HCl (aq) yields ZnCl2 (aq) + H2 (g)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See 1litre=1dm3 and M which is molarity is equal to concentration so we know the formula c= n/ v where v is volume c is concentration and n no. Of moles but as we have to find the no.of moles of HCl first so n=c into v that is 8.2 into 3.5 makes 28.7 moles of HCl but as ratio of Zinc to HCl is 1:2 so there will be 14.35 moles of Zinc form and we know the equation for finding mass that is mass= Mr( molecular mass) into no.of moles so molecular mass of zinc is 65.4 which is then multiplied by no of moles 14.35 making 938.49 grams of Zinc form

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

is there any sig figures?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah rounding off the answer it's 938.5 gm of Zinc form ok

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

alright i appreciate all your help!!!!
