write a balanced equation for formation of ammonia frm calcium hydroxide

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I think we are missing some information here. Ammonia cannot form from calcium hydroxide alone. Could you restate the question?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Hello @eric_d !

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Ammonia can be formed by the reaction of `ammonium chloride (NH4Cl)` and `calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)2].` Can you write the balanced equation on your own now ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

\(\large\sf Hint:\) Products will be \(\sf CaCl_2~and~H_2O\) in addition to ammonia.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2NH4Cl+Ca(OH)2. ->. 2NH3 + CaCl2 + 2H2O
