A solution of salt and water contains 50 grams of water per 100 milliliters of the solution. If 1 mole of water weighs 16 grams, _____ moles of water would be present in 25 milliliters of the solution. [Round off your answer to two decimal places]
It doesn't look like it's a chemistry question: - Saturated salt solution contains way more than 50 grams of water per 100 ml! - 1 mole of water weighs 18 g (not 16). Can you check the question?
thats how it is its just a question for my extra credit summer course theres nothing else besides that
Its for math not chemistry
That's ok, we will assume we're in a different galaxie out in the Milkyway! :) Use proportions: 100 mL solution : 50 g H2O 25 mL : x g x=? g H2O solve for x, and put in following proportion. 16 g H2O: 1 mol x g H2O : k mol k is your answer in moles.
^.^ hehe thanks very much now that i see how you made it i finally understand it thanks :)
You're very welcome! :)
