I would use the laws of exponents
\[\frac{ 5^{^{1/2}} }{ 5^{^{1/3}}}\]
see how the bases are the same, ie the base is 5
we have a rule that states\[\frac{ a^b }{ a^c }=a ^{b-c}\]

just remember top exponent minus the bottom exponent
so what is (1/2)-(1/3)

square root is 1/2 power
