How do you identify NaOH , Mg(NO3)2 , BaCl2 , Na2S without using any other chemical component?

To test for the presence of NaOH we use litmus paper. Test for nitrate anions we add an equal volume of NaOH and a piece of aluminium foil. Moisten pieces of red and blue litmus paper. gently heat gas evolved turns red litmus paper blue. test for Mg+2 we add NaOH or NH3(aq), with NaOH white ppt insoluble in excess. with NH3(aq) white ppt.insoluble in excess. Test for Ba+2 we also add either NaOH or NH3(aq) both would have the same result no ppt. test for chloride anion chloride, we add silver nitrate followed by aqueous ammonia Cl –(aq)gives white ppt. with Ag+(aq) (soluble in NH3(aq) http://faculty.swosu.edu/william.kelly/pdf/qo2a.pdf check out this link to test for Na2S

Mg(NO)3 Burn and a brown colour gas emits.From that we can identify.
