So I have quite a few stoichiometry questions, I haven't been taught it so I really don't know... 1) S + O2 = SO2 How many moles of sulfur are needed to produce 15.0 mol of sulfur dioxide? 2) 2H2 + O2 = 2H2O How many moles of water are produced from 13.35 mol of oxygen? 3) 6Li + N2 mc007-1.jpg 2Li3N If 12 mol of lithium were reacted with excess nitrogen gas, how many moles of lithium nitride would be produced? Please and thank you!

OpenStudy (abmon98):

in 1) you look for the mole ratio according to the balanced chemical equation. 1 mole of sulphur reacts with oxygen to produce 1 mole of of SO2, what if 15 moles were produced 1:1 x mole of Sulphur: 15 mole of SO2 15*1/1=15 moles of sulphur. Try out question 2 now :)

So with that logic, would #2 be 26.70 moles?

OpenStudy (abmon98):

yes that's right :D

If 12 mol of lithium were reacted with excess nitrogen gas, how many moles of lithium nitride would be produced?
