Given sinx=3/5 and x is in quadrant 2 what is the value of tan x/2
|dw:1407036585909:dw|
|dw:1407036687574:dw|
so, sinx = 3/5 sin^-1 (3/5) = x x= 36.86 degrees.
now remember tan is negative. -tan (x/2) = -tan (36.86/2) = -0.3333 = -1/3
@study100 Thanks for explaining the quadrants to me and all of this this was really helpful

Hold on @study100 I hsd a question like this earlier it was given sinx=-4/5 and x is in the quadant 3 what is the value of tanx/2 and it told me the answer was -2
@study100 i think this question wants somthing other than a fraction
