Simplify the expression. xsqrt(8x^3) + xsqrt(2) + 4sqrt(2x) If the simplified expression is written in standard form, what is the leading coefficient? Numerical Answers Expected!

ok... You have to simplify sqrt(8x^3) first, because you want to have like terms. Separate the coefficient 8 and x^3 first. Then simplify sqrt8, which is 2sqrt2 Then simplify sqrt x^3, which is xsqrtx Now you multiply 2sqrt2 and xsqrt2 and you will get 2xsqrt2x Now you can combine like terms. Find the like terms, which are 4sqrt(2x) and 2xsqrt(2x). Well hey! But you cannot combine the coefficients 4 and 2x! What you need to do in this case is to factor out sqrt(2x) because it is the GCF of the two expression. And Xsqrt(2) just stays the same. So we should have: Xsqrt(2) + sqrt(2) (2x+4) Hope i helped a bit :D
