What is the oxidation half-reaction for Mg(s) + ZnCl2(aq) MgCl2(aq) + Zn(s)? ok, since I'm awful at oxidation related stuff, can someone check my work? I think the half-reaction should be Mg(s) --> Mg2+ + 2e-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it's right n for Zinc it is Zn2+(aq) + 2e makes Zn(s)
