How would I find the concentration of an unknown acid if I have a Ka value of 3.98x10^-5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the concentration of NaOH which is 1.0 M, pKa is 4.4, and the volume of the acid is 25 mL

OpenStudy (mayaal):

is this ap chem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (mayaal):

ok,do u know anyone who has ap chem?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

The Ka is the dissociation constant for the acid, write a dissociation equation and the expression (it's the same as an equilibrium expression \(K=\dfrac{products}{reactants} \)). You also need to know the pH of the solution, or \([H^+]\).
