Let f(x) = x2 - 16. Find f-1(x). 4square root of x ±square root of x plus 16 x squared over 16 1 over quantity of x squared minus 16 HELP

Is that suppose to be find the inverse? o-o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess? thats all it said and it confused me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, Well to find the inverse, Switch the X and Y and solve for Y. c:

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

to find the inverse swap x and y so \[x = y^2 - 16\] now make y the subject then you have the inverse

OpenStudy (cj49):

To find the inverse: Replace f(x) with y Switch x's and y's, so put x where y is and x where y is. Solve for y Replace y with f^-1(x)
