OpenStudy (abhisar):

Elements in the coloumn have same valence shell electronic configuration and thus have same number of valence shell electrons.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

For example, Lithium, Sodium, Potassium all are placed in 1st coloumn and have same number of valence shell electron i.e 1

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Got it ?
