how to balance S8+O2=SO3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation is s8+ o2 arrow so3 right? So what you want to do is get equal amounts on both sides. To do this u have to find the common number. Since there are s8 on the reactants you want that on the products so multiply the products by 8. You get s8o24. Now you need to get the value of o in the reactant side. So multiply the o2 by 12. The final equation will be S8 + 12O2 = 8SO3
