Ammonia, ethyne, hydrochloric acid gas,NaH,which of these is not a covalent hydrides?
Any ans for me?
all of those have bonds between hydrogen and another atom. H-N H-C H-Cl and Na-H three of the bonds are covalent bonds, because the hydrogen is bonding to a NON-metal. once is an ionic bond, because the hydrogen is bonding to a METAL
Which one among them is iconic bond?
the one that where hydrogen is bonded to a metal
Meaning NaH is d iconic bond?
ionic, not iconic, but yes
Thanks. Pls help me with this also, When alkali metals are heated with hydrogen, what do they form? Is it covalent, ionic, metallic or non-stoichiometric hydrides?
sodium is an alkali metal. this question is exactly like your last one
So what's the answer?
sodium and hydrogen form NaH, which is the same kind of hydride you answered earlier
