Find x such that x + 4, 3x + 9, and 2x + 8 are consecutive terms in an arithmetic sequence

Arithmetic sequence has the same common difference. Subtract second term from first term and equate it to the difference of third term minus the second term.

It's supposed to be 3x - 9 not + 9. I tried that and the answer doesn't make sense. I watched my teacher do it a few days ago and his answer was different
