Which substance is acting as the Brønsted-Lowry acid in the following chemical reaction? NH4 + OH- yields NH3 + H2O NH4+ OH- NH3 H2O
@Avenged7x So this definition is that it contributes a H in water. Acid - Donates H and Base accept the H in water. NH4 goes to NH3 ----> loosing a H so it is donating, so it is a acid. OH goes to H2O -----> accepting a H, so it is a base. Answer would be A.
THANKYOU SO MUCH
@malice was this right?
Pretty sure...not in this class anymore, but I generally would delete my "thankyou" replies if I had gotten the question wrong.
If it helps, I ended this class with a 93% and I basically had googled everything XD.......My teacher sucked in this class and chem had a lot of math so no judge ^.^ The last module in chem was pretty easy tho.
