PLEEAAAASSSEEEE HEEELLLLPPPPPPP WILLL FAN AND GIVE A MEDAL!!!!! What were the expected results of Rutherford’s gold foil experiment, based on Thomson’s model of the atom? How did the real results of the gold foil experiment change the accepted model of the atom?

OpenStudy (julian.pitalua):

They expected that all the atom's particules would pass the gold foil, it would mean that the atom has no dense particules with positive charge. The Thomson's model says that the positive part an atom is disperse and are not dense. and rutherford changed this, saying that the positive part on an atom was concentrated in something called a nucleous. This written in a shallow way, you should read more about it.

Ugh, thank you so much. You're a lifesaver!

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Wow, I got all of them right! Except the questions where I had to describe stuff but other than that, I got them right. Thank you so much. I'm already a fan by the way. :)

OpenStudy (julian.pitalua):

Humm. Were you just rectifying?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Making sure it was right? Yes!
