I've been searching for this question for two hours without finding answers !! My teacher asked ... and I can't find it !

OpenStudy (happytalesrebornn):

Still not really ideal. Supposedly, you would have to dehydrate and then add H2SO + heat. You'll end up with ethene. To balance that, hydrogen + catalyst nickel to create ethane. That, however, is Ethanol ----> Ethane. Realistically, reversing the process isn't practical.

'happy' I know this question and I've answered it "to get ethane from ethanol" :D but not ethanol from ethane

OpenStudy (happytalesrebornn):

WOOWWOOWWOWOWO ARE YOU KIDDING ME

OpenStudy (happytalesrebornn):

flutterING OPEN STUDY -_- Erased everything I freaking typed. Sigh... anyways it's not really practical. Neutralize H+ by titration, dehydrate, removal of Hydrogen (as a solid), application of HO2CCH(OH)CH(OH)CO2H + heat. I couldn't really give an accurate response even if I wanted to.

thank you

I've found the answer .. \[C2H6 +Cl2 \rightarrow C2H5Cl (KOH aq. \Delta )\rightarrow C2H5OH \]
