If a pure substance consists of hydrogen and oxygen and a mixture consists of hydrogen and oxygen: both the pure substance and the mixture will be identical the pure substance will still keep the properties of both the hydrogen and the oxygen the mixture will always have the same ratio of hydrogen and oxygen the components of the pure substance will not be able to be separated by physical means

Pure substance consists of one chemical compound... for example, water is H\(_2\)O. The Hydrogen and Oxygen molecules are chemically fused together, and can not be separated easily. So a glass of water in its normal form is pure substance.
