OpenStudy (anonymous):

Benzene is made up of carbon and hydrogen. It is 92.3% C by mass. What is its empirical formula?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

assuming 100 g, 92.3 g are carbon and 7.7 g are H. Convert these to moles. Divide them both by the one with less moles. Multiply them by a factor to get them to be whole numbers.
