What's the sample variance and the standard deviation from the data set: 2, 9 , 10 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

use the formulas/processes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you need to find the mean, and then the sum of the squared differences from the mean, and divide it according to yor degrees of freedom

OpenStudy (amistre64):

after you find variance, stndrd dev is just the sqrt of variance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mean = 7 sum of squared differences= 38 then 38/2= 19 19 = sample variance square root of 19 = 4.36 standard deviation = 4.36

i think that's right, thank you!
