Given (1, 1) is a point on the base graph of f(x) = x^5 and g(x) = -(x + 1)5 − 5, find where the point on f(x) would be moved to on the graph of g(x).

would this be 1,-5?

OK well the +1 in the bracket will move the whole graph of x^5 1 place to the left then the negative outside the bracket will reflect it in the x axis and finally the -5 will move the graph downwards 5 units

so i assume it has to be with the placement of that

yes now 1 move to the left will take (1,1) to (0,1) right only the value of x will change

ok now reflection in x axis will take the y value 1 to -1, x will remain the same so the point goes to (0,-1)

then the -5 takes y value to -6 so its (0,-6)
