Someone Please Help Me!!! Determine the fraction of total interest owed. After the seventh month of a 12-month loan, the numerator is: {(n + 11) + (n + 10) + (n + 9) + (n + 8) + (n + 7) + (n + 6) + (n + 5)} = (a)64, (b)65, (c)63, and the denominator is: {(n) + (n + 1) + ... + (n + 11)} = (a)76, (b)77, (c)78. Therefore, the fraction is numerator/denominator (to the nearest tenth) =(a)8.1%, (b)80.8%.

OpenStudy (perl):

hmm, ive never seen this before

OpenStudy (perl):

is there an online book or guide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im Doing an online class And This Was not in any of the lessons

@amistre64

OpenStudy (perl):

i dont understand the numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Neither do I

OpenStudy (perl):

try plugging in n = 1 for the a)

OpenStudy (perl):

so for the first part we have 12 + 11 + 10 + 9 + 8 + 7 + 6= 63

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i believe n is the month variable ... let n=7

OpenStudy (perl):

( 1 + 11) + (1 + 10) + (1 + 9 ) + .. ( 1 + 5)

OpenStudy (perl):

there is a guide here how to do it http://www.aoacademy.com/media/kb/StudyGuideConMath06.pdf

OpenStudy (perl):

the denominator is 78

OpenStudy (perl):

numerator is 63

OpenStudy (amistre64):

not sure why the top is as it is tho ... there are 7 terms up top, which may have to do with the 7th month ....

OpenStudy (perl):

63/78 = .8076 which is 80.8%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you

OpenStudy (perl):

is it right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
